The motor lovers event of the season

Mark your calendars for the Annual Silver Willow Classic Country Cruisin' being held July 4th and 5th at Silver Willow Farm Rescue Center.
Silver Willow Farm Rescue Center is a unique farm animal rescue center located on a sprawling 100 acre farm in the hills of Mulmur near the village of Mansfield. This event takes place to help raise funds for the animal rescue center. Each year this rescue facility is responsibly for saving and rehabilitating hundreds of abused or abandoned farm animals. A full service facility that is involved with every aspect from the actual recovery and rescuing of the animals to the rehab and eventually adoption for some. There are 2 large barns full of everything from the smallest birds to the largest horses. Many of the animals can be viewed and at the same time you can donate to this worthwhile cause.
This fund raising event to help the farm animals has been developed over the years to encompass all aspects of generations says farm manger Laura McArthur. She also says that after many years of attending car shows with her husband (the late Larry Epworth), she was discouraged by the lack of young people involved in the hobby. It came to her attention that this generation of car enthusiasts were a dying breed and figured there must be someway to make the younger generation feel welcome at these events.
If you have not yet been to this unique automotive event, you have quite the treat in store. From the moment you drive through the gates you will find groomed green grass, hills overlooking a sparking pond, wooden paddocks and barns, and country music playing in the background. All adding to the perfect backdrop to this ‘show like no other”.
From classic cars, hot trucks, tractors and bikes all seemed like a natural fit at her show. Laura herself drives and shows trucks, so of course the trucks always get big billing at the show. With over 100 Trophy classes offered each year at the Silver Willow Classic Country Cruisin, at least 50 of them are for truck classes. McArthur says that while she loves the judged car shows, they always seemed too quiet for her country roots. While her husband enjoyed relaxing with his beautiful show car and visiting with his life long friends, she personally preferred a little more excitement. Pulling tractors and trucks, off road racing, old steam tractors, loud pipes and big stacks is what got that her adrenaline going.
The Silver Willow Classic is all about having a great time while sill enjoying some serious show competition. Judging for the Show n Shine classes starts at noon on Saturday July 4th. With a full field of trophy classes. Along with the typical Show N Shine Classes this show offers something for everyone including Best Work Truck Classes, Best Truck owned by a “beard”, Best ATV Modified, most original classic car, etc...The list goes on and on and can be seen at www.SilverWillowClassic.com. Awards for the Show N Shine win be given out Saturday, early evening before the Live Country Concert.
Included in the exciting performance classes are the MUD BOG competitions, the ONE TUFF TRUCK Obstacle challenge, The ATV Pulls and the ATV Mud races, the girls foot race known as the Dirty Girls Dash for Cash, The Pink Slips Loudest Rev Contest, and some fun for the younger ones, the Barbi Jeep Down Hill Races.
Camping is offered again this year as its “just too much fun to go home”. Campers are all treated the very popular Bonfire Country Concert held on the big stage right in the middle of the farm.

It's worth the drive to Mansfield.
