Meet author Don Hayward this Saturday in Shelburne

Author Don Hayward, author of ‘After the Last Day' will be in Shelburne this Saturday, June 20th at Jelly Craft Bakery, 120 Main Street, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
‘After the Last Day' details the possibilities and struggles that people face after a global economic collapse.
Come and meet Don and discuss the novel or other issues relating to the possible global economic and climatic disasters. Books will be available for purchase and personally signed and dedicated by Don.
The novel, After the Last Day, tells the story of Dufferin County residents who must survive after a sudden collapse of the global financial structure. While challenging problems are presented, at the end of the story the reader is left with a feeling of optimism and hope. After the Last Day is an essential read for those who have not thought about impending economic disaster and for those who are knowledgeable of the precarious global economic structure. Residents of Ontario, especially those in Dufferin and Grey counties will find it especially interesting.
The story follows the lives of the small town Shadly family as it is swept up in the chaos. Their efforts and those of their friends to survive the initial threat of starvation and then to fight off the enslavement of brutal dictators are detailed over a span of sixty years. As the story develops, events expand to include the Great Lakes basin, Quebec and the north-eastern portion of the USA. Solutions must be found for: the disposal of nuclear waste; land tenure and the decline of industrial based technology. Our spiritual relationship to the land and each other is explored, tying together native understanding with other religious beliefs. Murder, suicide, starvation and sacrifice intertwine and battle until they resolve into a final message of hope.
After the Last Day is published: in soft-cover by Virtualbookworm.com; e-book in all formats by Smashwords.com
Both versions are available through most standard distributors and may be purchased on-line directly from the publishers.
The book is available in Shelburne at The Cut Above, and Jelly Craft and the Shelburne Library. It is also available at the Orangeville Library.
