This page was exported from Shelburne Free Press [ https://shelburnefreepress.ca ] Export date:Tue Jul 23 12:25:50 2024 / +0000 GMT ___________________________________________________ Title: Impaired driver causes collision --------------------------------------------------- On Sunday July 5th, at 7:04 p.m., Dufferin OPP were dispatched to a two motor vehicle personal injury collision at intersection of Dufferin County Road 109 and Dufferin County Road 11 in Amaranth. Investigation revealed that a black 2002 Dodge Dakota was travelling westbound on County Road 109, going through the set of lights at County 109 and County Road 11 in Amaranth Township. The truck was unable to make a last minute right turn and collided with a 2008 Mitsubishi sedan, which was stopped at the red light in the southbound lane of County Road 11. The driver and passenger in the Mitsubishi were transported via Dufferin EMS to an area Hospital with minor injuries. Carole McLennan 53 year of age from Amaranth, was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Operate Motor Vehicle with over 80 mg alcohol in 100 ml of blood, and released on a Promise to Appear. Ms McLennan will appear in an Orangeville court at a later date to answer to the charge.
