Festival on 10

This Saturday August 1st Dunadel Golf Course will hold its 1st Annual Festival, which also coincides with their 25th Anniversary!
This one day event will start at 4 p.m. and be packed full of things to do for adults and kids. With world renowned tribute bands the Practical Hip, Ultimate Urban, Blue Radio and Sheriff's of York performing and emcee of the day being Comedian David Merry there should not be a dull moment.
This event will also feature a volleyball tournament, food vendors, horse drawn wagon rides, dunk tank, face painting, tug of war and much more. With the grounds fully licensed there will be beverages for the adults to enjoy.
Owner Dave Carmeron told the Free Press that this is what he expects to be the first of may Festival's hosted at Dunadel Golf Course. His dream when he became owner eight years ago was to put an event like this together in order bring the local communities of Southgate and Dufferin together and in return give back to the local clubs that are assisting with such a huge endeavour. Something that his three children are very proud of seeing their father accomplish after talking about it for so many years!
Dave wants this to be an event like no other where everyone walks away with a positive, memorable experience. As such he will be honouring 6 ex-military personal at this event. He discussed in detail how he wants to grow this event to eventually be a three day experience with camping on site as well as adding more attractions such as a fishing derby as he has several ponds on the land.
In order to accommodate everyone and make this event the safest he possibly can, Dave has no cost shuttle buses that will be picking up and dropping off in Feversham, Shelburne, Dundalk, Orangeville and Collingwood. This is so you can have a few beverages and not have to worry about driving home afterwards. The whole event is based on good clean wholesome fun for the whole family!
Dave asked if we could send a big thanks you to everyone for making this event possible with special thanks going to all members of the Dunadel Golf Course, Denise Holmes CAO of Melancthon Township, and Jessica Pegelo from the MTO.
Currently family camping is being offered for this event in Dundalk with full hook up available for three days at a minimal fee of $75, with tents for $25. Admission for this event is $20 for adults and children under the age of 18 are free. Dunadel Golf Course is located at 159291 Hwy 10, Dundalk and can be contacted at 519 923-9616 for more information.
