Helping other children, remembering my identical twin sister

Dear editor:
I lost my identical twin sister Heather to a rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma, that affects mostly young children. It is a cancer of the bone and muscle. She had two tumours, one in her tail bone and the other in her hip bone. She fought for 10 months. She gained her Angel wings March 31st, 2012 at the age of 19.
After sharing 19 birthdays together, I had no idea how I would spend my 20th alone. So I decided with the help of my amazing family and friends. Instead of me receiving birthday gifts that mean nothing to me since all I wanted was my twin back. I would collect NEW unwrapped toys for the Oncology floor at the Hospital of Sick Kids in Toronto.
This will be my third year doing it. Last year, Home Depot in Bolton donated a cargo van so we could get all the toys downtown! This year I would like to try and fill a 5 ton truck from APPS Transport Group.
I'm trying to make this event as big as it can be.
I have set up a YouCaring page to make donations a little easier. Any donation will be greatly appreciated at www.youcaring.com/sick-kids-hospital-toronto-407806
I'll be bringing the toys to Sick Kids on September 16th – my actual birthday.
