Help with Small Hall event, help save Syrian refugeesDear editor: For the past year, I have been working with a group of Clearview and Mulmur residents to sponsor a Syrian refugee. The federal government requires that we raise $12,000 to sponsor one person, and we have raise approximately half of that. Details of our project are on our website: outofawarzone.com. For our final fundraiser, we've partnered with the Small Halls Festival. Our goal is to raise $15,000 and help a few more refugees. Please come out and support this cause! The Small Halls Festival and Creemore 100 Mile Store present, Scratch: Small Halls Small Plates on Sunday, October 4, from 1–4:30 p.m. at Dunedin Hall, Clearview. Tickets are $99 and are available at smallhallsfestival.ca On the Dunedin Hall grounds Michael Stadtlander is joined by Hiro Sushi, Azzurra, Ravine, Oyster Boy and Chez Michel in a tastings event with music in support of Syrian refugees and the accessibility renovations for Clearview's small halls. Inside the Hall, noted authors will speak about the refugee experience. There's also an art and silent auction! Book at any participating Bed and Breakfast and receive $100 Small Halls bucks for free which can be applied to any event during the festival – including ours!!
