On Sunday October 5, at 4 p.m. Dufferin OPP were conducting Speed enforcement in Amaranth. Officers observed a 2013 Toyota Highlander northbound on Dufferin Rd #11 north of Dufferin Rd. #10 traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked in radar at 155 km in a posted 80 km per hour zone. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation Gowthaman Thayaparan, 18 years of age, from Brampton was charged with stunt driving contrary to the highway traffic act. His vehicle and drivers license were impounded for 7 days. The accused will appear in Orangeville court at a later date.
