Impaired charges

On Friday September 25th a Shelburne Police officer was conducting radar in a 60 kph zone. At 8 p.m. a grey Ford truck was stopped by the officer for driving at 91kph on this stretch of roadway. When the officer approached the vehicle in regards to the speeding, it quickly became obvious that the driver had been drinking alcohol and showed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
As the investigation continued, the driver provided two breath samples at the station to a qualified breath technician. The results indicated that the driver well over double the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
As a result of the investigation, 38 year old Jeffrey Vallins of Meaford was charged with operate a motor vehicle while his ability to do so was Impaired by Alcohol, and operate a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml’s of his blood.
