Who should be repaying who?

Dear editor:
Re: Letter from Ed Crewson, Liberal candidate, “Tilson must repay Duffy money”
Why are you against the money raised for Conservatives by Mr. Duffy and why do you want it paid back?
First and foremost, this money raised will benefit the Conservatives and us (the taxpayers) – we were aware of this propensity to change all his expenses for repayment by the Senate. He also charged the Senate for those expenses under their confusing and insane rules. (Is this double-dipping?) Nobody knew or knows, including the Conservative party.
Second – on repayment – repay to who? And are you also going to demand that the Liberals pay back (to taxpayers and government) what the Liberals spent in the Sponsorship Scandal years ago?
Mr. Crewson, you should be very careful about throwing stones. No one of you have clean hands or anything else living in your glass houses. Politicians seem to think that they can make statements that they want people to believe without any consequences to themselves and/or their party. I guess you figured that nobody would remember the transgressions of Liberals, eh?
It is no wonder that a lot of people think ALL politicians are less than we hoped that they would be – namely honest, fair, and working for us, the taxpayers.
P.S. – When are the NDP going to pay the millions owed for misuse of taxpayers money?
Margaret Thompson,
Shelburne
