Thanksgiving long weekend was no different. In total, Shelburne Police laid 56 traffic related charges on Thanksgiving weekend. The breakdown of the traffic charges is 41 speeding violations, 8 insurance related violations, 2 stop sign violations, 2 document violations, 1 turning violation, and 1 seatbelt violation. In addition during a R.I.D.E. spot check on the Saturday night, a Shelburne woman was charged criminally for refusing to provide a breath sample when demanded by police. Further, three motor vehicle collisions were investigated. Shelburne Police encourages all drivers to take the privilege of driving a motor vehicle seriously, and make safety the top priority at all times.
