Racing charges

Dufferin OPP are concerned over the number of Racing/Stunt driving charges that have been laid this year.
Since January 1st, 2015 Dufferin OPP officers have laid over 45 Race motor vehicle charges. The majority of these incidents have occurred on Provincial Highway 10 and Airport Road within Dufferin County.
This type of driving behaviour is extremely dangerous to all motorists. Police want to remind the public of the following penalties for this offence
• 7 day driver’s license seizure
• 7 day vehicle impoundment
• Minimum $2000 fine
• Towing and Vehicle Impoundment Storage fee
• License reinstatement fee.
Police are asking drivers to act as good role models and drive according to posted speed limits to ensure a safe and enjoyable driving experience for all vehicles on all our roads.
