Title: Cobwebs & Caviar supports Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County

 AJ Cavey (far right) and Debra Wilson (second from right) present a cheque for $170 to representatives from the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County, Diane Cowen, executive director, and Kristi Moore, fundraising and outreach coordinator, on Wednesday afternoon. The proceeds were raised during two events held at Cobwebs & Caviar: ‘Motion Commotion', in September ($5 donation fee), and ‘Quilt Appraisal Day', in October ($5 fee). The monies will be used for education, promotion and family support. The Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County is currently looking for volunteers for its Family Engagement phone program, whereby volunteers, overseen by trained staff, make phone calls to people diagnosed with Alzheimer disease and related dementia and their families – just to “stay in touch.” This is especially important during the holiday season. The ASDC hosts regular support group meets, and is launching a social activity program in January, 2016.
