Muskies take double loss to Crushers




They had lot of a chances but the bounces just weren't going their way when the Shelburne Senior AA
Muskies met the Shallow Lake Crushers in back to back games over the weekend.
The Muskies travelled to Shallow Lake on Friday, November 27, and despite coming close – they had several off the goal post, the Muskies had to settle for a 7–4 loss.
The two teams returned for a re-match the following night at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex in Shelburne.
The Crushes came on strong in the first period scoring three to put the pressure on the Muskies to get back in the game.
An intense second period followed with the Shelburne team having opportunities in front of the Shallow Lake net but they just couldn't score.
The game ended with a 4-1 Muskies loss.
The loss drops the Muskies to sixth place in the North Division of the WOAA Senior League with a 2–11 record including an overtime loss to the Ripley Wolves back on October 17.
The Durham Thundercats are leading the division with 18 points after 12 games.
They are followed by the Mapleton-Minto 81's with 16 points and the Shallow Lake Crushers who are in third place with 14 points for the season.
In the South division the Clinton Radars are leading the league over all with an 11–0 record and 23 points for the season, followed by the Tavistock Royals in second place with 18 points.
The Muskies will be in Durham on Friday, December 4, to face the Thundercats.
Then on Saturday, December 5, they will be on the road and up against the Riley Wolves.
They will return to home ice in Shelburne on Saturday, December 12, to host the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks.
Game time is 8 p.m.
