Christmas draw winner

Mel Winger of William Street in Shelburne was the lucky winner of the Lions' Club Christmas rocking horse this year. The beautiful hand-made horses are designed and created by craftsman Jim Cheyne of Shelburne. Jim has made the sturdy wooden horses for the annual draw for more than 23 years. All money raised from this event for the Lions' Club stays in the community, helping purchase Seniors' Christmas gifts for Shelburne Residence, contributing to the Jennifer Widbur Hockey Tournament, providing funds for high school bursaries, glasses for needy students, supporting sports teams and more. The Lions' Club holds meetings on the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Mel Lloyd Centre and welcomes new members.
