Wolves Bantam LL in good position for end of season

With five games left on the schedule for the regular season the Shelburne Wolves Bantam LL team is in good position in the standings.
All of the Bantam's remaining games will be on the road.
They played their final home game on Monday, December 28, when they hosted the Honeywood Hurricanes at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex.
After ending the first period with a 3–0 lead, the Wolves kept up the pressure for the remaining two periods and left the ice with a big time win over Honeywood.
Wolves players Patrick O'Reilly and Ryan Higginson, both picked up hattricks for the game with Brendan Matthews notching four for the game.
Other Shelburne scorers include Jaden Moffat, Noah Springer, Jaden Way, Sheldon Holmes, and Brett Armstrong.
“It was a pretty overwhelming win,” said Wolves coach Joel Rooyakkers. “We're doing pretty good. I like the way the team is playing.”
The squad is now in the number nine spot in the 16 team Georgian Bay Triangle Local League standings with a 6–7–1 record after 14 games – good for 13 points.
“Our defence has improved a lot,” Rooyakkers said of the team's work on the ice since the start of the season. “All our games for the next month are away games. We should do well. We beat Midland a few weeks ago, and they were the top team in the League.”
The Stayner Cyclones team number 1, are now leading the League with 26 points and 12 wins.
They are followed by the Midland Centennials in second place with 24 points and the Stayner Cyclones number 2 team in third place with 22 points.
The Wolves next challenge will be on Sunday, January 17, when they travel to Penetang to take on the Flames.
That game is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. at the Penetang arena.
