Shelburne Legion NewsBy Lesa Peat It's finally here – the first long weekend of the summer! Branch 220 wishes everyone a happy and safe weekend. If you are not one of the lucky ones going camping or to the cottage, come into the branch and see what we have to offer. On Sunday, May 22, at 1 p.m. until 6 p.m., we will be having our 2nd Annual Crokinole tournament. Bring an appetizer pot luck and good aim. Call the branch at 519-925-3800 to put your team in. We will be open on Monday, May 23, as usual and Bingo will begin at 6.45 p.m. There will be no wings on May 27. They will resume on June 3 and continue every other Friday after that. On May 26, the Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting their monthly luncheon of spaghetti and meatballs with Caesar salad and a garlic bun all for $7 beginning at 11.30 a.m. Congratulations to Denyse Choppee for being Elected to the office of Ladies Auxiliary President, Diane Ramsey as 1st Vice, Connie Dougay as Sargent at Arms/Sports Officer, Linda Orvis as Secretary/Treasurer and Mary Warman as Past President. We hope you all have a very successful year. This is your last chance to sign up for the Zone doubles horseshoe tournament being held at Everett on May 28. You must register by Friday, May 20. The General meeting is on May 24 at 7 p.m. On behalf of everyone at Branch 220 we would like to thank Paula, Martin, Eric, Hal and Debbie for the generous donation of a stereo system for our front lounge. |
