The teens programs will be starting at the end of June, and the TD Summer Reading program for ages 2–12 will start the first week of July. The excitement is in all the activities and events the students are creating around our Theme: GO: Our race across Canada. We already have patrons signed out for 5 hours of computer classes on Wednesday and we encourage anyone needing help with computers to call and sign up for a session. Both Emily and Lindsay are doing an excellent job in this. The Young Adult program has some exciting activities ready to go. The Book Club, Pizza & Pages, will be held the last Thursday of every month from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Yes, there will be lots of pizza and lots of new books. Be sure to register so we don't run out of pizza! The Teens@ Random will be held on Thursday nights as well, except when it is Book Club night. This will be a fun-filled evening with crafts, Open Mike, Board games, and any creative ideas we can come up with together. And there is more; our Yoga for Teens will be held every Monday from noon to 1 p.m. starting July 8th. So we have planned lots of fun for all our young patrons this summer @ YOUR library. Please do register so we know what to prepare. If you want to read a real thriller, Robert Rotenberg's latest book, Stranglehold is the one! I started it on Sunday night and couldn't put it down until I was finished Monday night. The plot revolves around Detective Ari Greene who has appeared in Rotenberg's other novels as the man who solves the cases. In a real turnaround in this novel, he is charged with the murder of Jennifer Raglan, the District Attorney who is also his lover. As the story unfolds, the tension increases and it is quite close to the end of the book that the real murderer is revealed. Once you read it, you'll see why I couldn't put it down. Our Genealogy sessions were a great success with a large audience for the Sunday afternoon general overview and then the workshop on Monday was filled to capacity.  The attendees gleaned some very useful information to support their research on their family history. Huge Book Sale this Saturday, June 15. In conjunction with the Annual Street Carnival, we will be holding a book sale- outside weather permitting. We have some wonderful books in the sale so do come out. You are supporting the library when you purchase these books because we use the money to obtain new ones for the collection. The other vendors will be lined up and down First Avenue and so will we!! The next lot of summer books has arrived.
