The “Green Thinking” reusable bags will be available outside the Library, and you can fill it with wonderful fresh produce, baking, etc., at the market. Our volunteers are busy sewing up the bags with fabric donated by community members. YOU can get involve by donating some fabric or a few hours to help with sewing, cutting out, or pressing a few seams; we`d love to have you become part of this community initiative. Help us reduce the number of plastic bags that are adding to the pollution of our environment. YOUR Library is the heart of the community. Call 925-2168 to join the ironing, sewing and production group. Dufferin Reads: One Book One County- Hum if You Don't Know the Words Start reading, Hum if You Don`t Know the Words! This is our Dufferin Reads: One Book One County selection. The Grand Finale will be at Grand Spirits Distillery in Grand Valley on September 13th at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $45.00 each and include dinner, taxes and gratuity and of course, Bianca Marais, the author will be there. Check YOUR Library for a themed event in July relating to the book. Teen Scene: Our TAB members met to decide on the line up for 2018's Teen Summer Reading Club, and we are so excited about many of the events this summer! Needless to say this summer is going to be very creative, and Teens will probably want to wear old clothes to most of our events to prevent ruining their favourite clothes! Keep an eye out for our calendar which will be released shortly. We will also be running our Study Hall sessions this month where Teens are invited to come study in a quite space for exams. Light refreshments will be provided. Upcoming events: Writer's Café- Thursday, June 7th & 14th from 3:30-4:30pm Study Hall- Tuesday, June 19th from 3:30-4:30pm & Thursday, June 21st from 3:30-5pm Book Club- Thursday, June 28th from 6:00-7:00pm Children`s Programs: We are getting closer and closer to summer vacation that means it's almost time for our TD Summer Reading Club to begin! Early registration is now OPEN so sign up if you would like to be part of this summer's fun program. Mark your calendars now because our Summer Reading Kick-Off Party will be on Saturday, July 7th at 10:30 am. On Tuesday, June 12th – 10:00 -11:00 am - Books and Babies will be held for toddlers and children aged 2 years and younger. Come out and socialize with other young parents and join this babies play group. Paws to Read – Wednesdays at 3:30. We are still looking for new friends to read to Mac. This is a terrific opportunity for reluctant readers or children who are shy about reading out loud.
