Bethel Bible Camp Week ends in songAfter a week of fun activities, memory verses, games and bible stories, the Bethel Bible Camp for children concluded on July 19th with song and treats. The Bethel Bible Camp was free to anyone who wished to attend. Even parents were welcome to sit in on the action and join in the festivities. A volunteer organizer, Sheila Rintoul provided a look into the program and what the church has to offer saying, “The stories for bible camp incorporated summer analogies around the campfire. The camp itself was only in the evenings and is run by volunteers and won't roll around again until next year.” Volunteers Andrew and Melissa Porter were on hand to provide song, music and instruction. The benefit of attending the camps is in Rantoul's opinion, a noble one. “We hope the children learn some of the memory verses and parts of the bible so they can take that knowledge with them throughout their lives and have fun doing it,” says Rintoul. Summer camps are not the only activity the Church offers. “Throughout the school year we have Kids Club on Wednesday evenings,” says Rintoul. Sunday mornings include Sunday school for kids as well, where fun, songs and crafts are offered. Bible Study Mondays offer a venue of Bible discussion and the Church even offers a Mom and Tots Wednesday morning session. Rintoul mentions that the Bethel Church located in Shelburne for the past 50 years was originally in Amaranth and is rooted in Plymouth. “It's an independent Evangelical Church where members simply try to follow the bible,” says Rintoul. Approximately 45 members strong, members meet each Sunday at 10:45 a.m. A valued part of her daily life, Rintoul had this to say about the Church, “This church is a very important part of my life. I attended Vacation Bible Camp when I was a child and so did my own children. We've learned to love the Lord. It's almost like another family to me.” Rintoul went on to mention that everyone is welcome at Bethel Bible Chapel located at 419 Main St. E. Shelburne.
