Shelburne Library news

Happy Fiddling this weekend. Already the sounds of fiddle music are livening up the downtown streets and by the weekend everyone will be joining in! Just a quick reminder that we are closed the Saturday of the Fiddle weekend so do come in earlier this week to get your reading material. We are also gearing up for a Giant Book Sale the end of the month so be sure to look for details as it will be held in another location. Some terrific buys!

Our programs are continuing to draw in toddlers and teens. This week and next we will be featuring the following:

TD Summer Reading Program: This week we had a great turnout for our Tuesday craft session, where over 25 children made decorative totem poles and rain sticks out of recycled paper rolls.  Next Tuesday (August 13th), we'll be making race cars… VROOM!  Be sure to ‘race' on over to the library and book your spot in the program (you can also ‘speed' dial us at 519-925-2168). We invite families and children of all ages to join us next Wednesday, August 14th, for a screening of Pixar's Cars featuring Lightning McQueen and Mater. As always, popcorn and juice will be served.

Teens @Random: Please note that Teen Yoga has switched to Wednesdays from 2 – 3 p.m. And don't forget our weekly Thursday evening program, Teens@Random. Tonight we'll be making secret notes, ninja stars, flying dragons, and other origami creations. Next Thursday, teens will have the opportunity to learn to make a wallet out of Duct Tape! Space is limited, so please register by visiting or calling the library.
