Shelburne Warriors play double header over the weekend




This week was a double header for the Shelburne Warriors on the cricket pitch at KTH Park in Shelburne.

The Warriors were up against the Shelburne Knights on Saturday, July 9.

The Warriors won the toss and batted first. They set the total of 145 runs on the board leaving the Knights to chase
the score.

Highest scorer and man of the match, Samir Patel from the Warriors, achieved his second half century of the season. 

The Knights tried to chase 145 runs but failed to do so making the Warriors the winners by 35 runs.

The Warriors were back again the next day with a match against the Shelburne Gladiators.

Gladiators' captain, Sujay Sunny, won the toss and chose to field first.

Warriors again set a good total of 146 runs thanks to highest batting partnership of the season so far with 58 runs between Leeroy Foster and youngster
Hisaan Siddiqui. 

Muhammad Abdul Razzak was awarded the Man of the match due to his maiden half century (51 runs) of the season and two wickets while bowling.

In response, the Gladiators tried their best to chase 146 runs but were only able to score a total of 125 runs thanks to good partnership between Suraj Sundarraj's 27 runs and Unike Patel's 21 runs. 

Shelburne Warriors won their second game by 21 Run(s).
