Shelburne Warriors and Knights come out on top in weekend cricket action

There was two exciting cricket game on the weekend as the Shelburne Cricket Club took to the pitch at KTH Park in Shelburne.

On Saturday, August 12, the Shelburne Warriors were up against the Shelburne Samurais.

The Warriors won the toss and made the decision to bat first.

The Warriors started off strong with their bowling and took the first wicket on the second ball.

Team captain Abdul Razzaq tried to salvage the innings and with 27 runs, the team managed to put up 84 runs on the board.

The Warriors looked good and were able to chase the runs in just under 14 overs.

Mohammad Maqsood Bala was the Man of the Match with his stable batting and three wickets.

The following day, Sunday, August 13, the Shelburne Knights took on the Shelburne Gladiators.

The Knights won the toss and decided to bat.

With good batting performance, they were able to put up 197 runs on the board. That's one less run than the house league record.

Manjinder Singh's maiden half-century (55 runs) and Unike Patel's 41 runs made the difference in this match.

When the Gladiators came to chase, they batted strongly but gradually started loosing wickets.

Weylin Kapp with his maiden half-century (51 runs) tried to make the difference but in the end, the Gladiators were short by 57 runs giving the win to the Knights.

Manjinder Singh was named Man of the Match.
