Shelburne’s first Tim Hortons – coming soon!

Shelburne residents are ready to start lining up at the drive thru, as the iconic Canadian coffee giant Tim Hortons gets ready to open its doors in 2014.

Residents of Shelburne are excited for the esteemed brand to be a part of the town and the growth that the village will be experiencing with the revitalization of the Wrigglesworth Plaza on Main Street where the new Tim Hortons will be home to and new developments underway such as VANDYK communities' The Neighbourhoods of Summerhill.

“This is great news not only for the Town of Shelburne, VANDYK group of companies and Wrigglesworth Plaza, but for Tim Hortons as well. After several attempts to expand into Shelburne, Tim Hortons has finally succeeded and will be an anchor in VANDYK's Wrigglesworth Plaza. It will forever be known as the first Tim Hortons in the town and VANDYK is honoured to be a part of this milestone and making this happen,” says Domenic Zita, President of VANDYK Commercial.  It's just another example of how VANDYK is committed to the growth and development of the Town. John Telfer, CAO/Clerk of The Town of Shelburne explains, “The Town of Shelburne is delighted to finally have a Tim Hortons restaurant approved for our community. It has been a very difficult project to bring to fruition with several commenting agencies involved but it has also gratifying to see it finally a reality for the Town.  I see this project at Wrigglesworth Plaza as a well thought out development, that makes this gateway location, a truly preferred location for retail and service related businesses. We look forward to seeing this plaza revitalized and providing a great look as a gateway commercial destination.”  The revitalization of the existing plaza will bring new businesses which in turn will translate into employment opportunities and more economic stability.

At the gateway intersection into the Town of Shelburne, Wrigglesworth Plaza offers an excellent retail opportunity and flexible space configurations with units from 1,000 sq. ft. Along a popular tourist route to Collingwood and Owensound, the intersection sees an overall daily traffic count of 28,500 vehicles with a 20% increase seen during the Summer months (according to Stats Canada). A number that will be sure to climb once the nearby community of The Neighbourhoods of Summerhill, currently under construction, is complete. A perfect location for Shelburne's first Tim Horton's!
