Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week


Crime Stoppers of Simcoe-Dufferin-Muskoka along with the Barrie Police Service are requesting the assistance of the public in solving this crime.

On September 12th, at 1:30 a.m. two masked men entered and robbed the Macs convenience store at Mapleview Drive and Huronia Road.  Once inside, the first suspect pointed a firearm at the clerk while the second suspect removed a knife and jumped over the counter.

The suspects demanded cash from the clerk and stole a quantity of cigarettes while wearing Halloween type masks to hide their faces.

The suspects were last seen running toward Lougheed Drive. Thankfully, the clerk was not injured as a result of this brazen robbery.

Suspect #1 is described as a white male, 17 – 18 years of age; 5'8” to 5'10” tall, slim build wearing a green long sleeve shirt, black t-shirt and carrying a black handgun.

Suspect #2 is described as a white male, 17 – 18 years of age, slim build, and 5'8” to 5'10” tall.

Barrie Police are continuing their investigation and are requesting anyone with information about the people responsible to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or go to www.tipsubmit.com to send an anonymous web tip.

Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display and you will remain anonymous.  Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.  Remember – Crime Doesn't Pay – But Crime Stoppers Does!
