Muskies home opener this weekend

The Shelburne Muskies Senior AA squad will host Elora this weekend for their first home game of the 2013 / 2014 season.

The Muskies wrapped up their try-outs after four sessions in September and October to finalize the roster for the season.

New head coach Chad Blundy is on the bench for this season replacing Joe Bakes who left the team at the end of last season.

The new line-up got their first test on Friday, winning 6-2 over Ripley in their first home game of the season.

The squad has several new players this year.

“We have lost a few players (from last year) due to players moving,” said club president Jenn Thompson.

The team website lists 16 players who have signed for this season including several names that will be familiar to Muskies fans.

There are 16 teams in the Western Ontario Athletic Associations Senior AA hockey League.

The Shelburne squad is slotted into the North division.

The home opener is scheduled for this Satuday, October 19, with an 8:00 p.m. start.
