Muskies struggling to get on the plus side

The Shelburne Muskies are still looking for their second win of the season after dropping game number four to the Durham Thundercats on Saturday night at the Centre Dufferin Recreation Complex.

The AA squad left with a 5–4 loss to the visitors.

After the weekend the Muskies are in the number six spot in the north division of the Western Ontario Athletic Association Senior AA league.

After winning game one of the season 6–2 over the Ripley Wolves, the Muskies have been on the negative side - however it's still early in the season and a few losses don't mean that much yet.

In game two of the season, the Muskie challenged the Shallow Lake Crushers after finding themselves with a four goal deficit in the second period.

Returning for the third period, the Muskies notched three to get back in the game but couldn't get in enough to tie it up and they had to settle for an 8-6 loss.

The following night (Oct. 19) they hosted the Elora Rocks for the home opener but had to settle for a 5–1 loss after playing the first two periods and not being able to score.

Shelburne's Mike Spearing notched the only Muskies goal in that game scoring late in the third period to avoid the shut-out.

The season is a long way from being over so the Muskies can turn this early season slump around.

The squad will travel to Elora on Friday, November 8, to take on the Rocks with an 8:30 p.m. start.

They will return to home ice at the CDRC on Saturday, November 9, to host the Durham Thundercats.

The game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
