Title: Gas leak

On Wednesday, January 22, at 7 a.m., Grey County OPP received a report of a possible gas leak on Ida Street South, Dundalk, in the Township of Southgate.

An odour of gas was detected and heard, emanating from a gas main located at the intersection of Ida Street South and Hanbury Street, in the industrial area of Dundalk.

Enbridge Energy Partners immediately attended and repaired the gas leak which was attributed to the extreme cold weather, having caused the pressure release valve to open.

Ida Street South was closed south to Melanchton Sideroad 240 for approximately 1 hour.

No evacuations were required. There were no injuries reported.
