Muskies get a break due to bad weatherThe Shelburne Muskies Senior AA team got a break from the ice when all North Division games in the Western Ontario Athletic Association where cancelled due to hard driving conditions and blowing snow on Saturday, January 25. The Muskies have had a tough season and in the number seven spot in the eight team League with 12 points. That's a 6–16 record for the season. Only the Lucknow Lancers have a worse record and are sitting in the basement with seven points and a 3–19 record for the season. The WOAA regular season wraps up this week. There has not yet been announcement regarding make-up games for those matches that were cancelled due to the weather. In the standings there is tight race for the top spots. The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks currently lead with 37 points an 18–4 record. They are followed by Elora Rocks with 37 points and 17–3–3 record, and have played one more game than the Saugeen squad. In third place the Mapleton-Miinto 81's are close behind with 36 points and an 18-4 record. The Durham Thundercats are in the number five spot followed by the Ripley Wolves, Shelburne, and Lucknow. In the South Division, the Tillsonburg Thunder are leading with 40 points and three losses after 23 games. They are followed by the Tavistock Royals and Komaka Classics who are tied for second place with 34 points and equal 16–8 records – including two overtime losses for each team. By Brian Lockhart |
