Registration for the Torch Run is $25 which includes a  T-shirt to be worn at the event, Deadline to register is Friday May 9th. Note: Participants 15 years and under must have a parent or guardian fill out and sign an additional child school waiver form. “In addition to registering and running, you have the option of further supporting Special Olympics Ontario by collecting pledges,” said PC Paul Neumann of Shelburne Police Services. “Pledge Forms are available from team coordinators.” Pledge forms and money should be brought with each runner to the Torch Run and handed in at registration or turned in prior to the event to a team coordinator. The run itself follows a 4km route through downtown Shelburne “(This is) not a race, rather a community effort to support special Olympic Athletes through awareness and raising funds,” PC Neumann reminds. Runners will be escorted by police, fire and an ambulance and a school bus will be following for anyone who needs a break.
