Last Sunday's Library Literary Event, with author Jai Martin and featuring her book Obligations and Aspirations: a Memoir of Growing up in Korea and an Unexpected New Life in Canada, enthralled the audience with over 40 in attendance. This remarkable book was the vehicle for Jai to tell her story of perseverance, hardships and life through a turbulent period in history. Her daughter Laura read a particularly captivating passage from the book and Jai and Rose Dotten engaged in a dialogue that highlighted many of the experiences and stories of this remarkable woman.
