Title: Speeder charged

On Wednesday evening a Shelburne police officer was conducting radar speed enforcement on Main Street. A blue dodge van caught the officers attention travelling at a very high rate of speed – clocked on the radar at 95kph in the posted 50kph zone.
When the officer pulled over the vehicle, evidence of alcohol consumption became apparent and the incident expanded into an over 80 investigation.
As a result of the investigation 53 year old Kevin Hammond of Alliston was arrested and charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle With Over 80 BAC.
Hammond was released on a promise to appear with a court date in September.
