A little bit ‘Country' and a little bit ‘Pop', Rogerson's music appeals to anyone of any age. Well received upon his last year's visit where his then new record Streetlights was featured, Rogerson's popularity is not the only reason he returns to Shelburne a second time to perform some of Streetlights but also to feature his newest album, Kaleidoscope. During a candid telephone interview, Lucas Rogerson revealed his attraction to the Town of Shelburne. “Shelburne is a great town. It's really grown over the last few years. I love the venue at Shelburne, and Grace Tipling Hall is such a great place to be performing in, it's such a beautiful Hall,” commented Rogerson, continuing, “After performing there the first time, I couldn't wait to play there again. Our new record label is Mapletone Records and I love the term records, records tell a story. Performing in the Grace Tipling Hall, people are able to relate to the music and that creates an experience.” And that is what Rogerson is all about, the experience and he hopes it will be personal for everyone who attends explaining, “Our music is available on line at the Mapletone Box office. The performance will last a couple hours. Be full of intimate moments and include an intermission in between. It will give people a chance to experience mainly original music and a few covers. If I had to provide a message to the Town of Shelburne it would be to just come out and enjoy a great night of a songwriter telling his story and you'll become a fan.” Rogerson, a 32 year old, married father of three with one on the way is a family man and self described admirer of his very supportive, tolerant and understanding wife. Hoping to further enhance the personal experience of attending one of his performances, Rogerson's newest album is not available on line and is available exclusively during performances. “I'm interested in meeting the people who are at the show and buy the music. Being a community based performer I will be giving $5 of every ticket sold to the local Food Bank, the Shepherd's Cupboard,” Rogerson commented. While Rogerson began performing professionally at the age of 12 in Drayton, Ontario, he is originally from Fergus, where his parents still live to this day. Rogerson can recount performing at one of Shelburne's Famous Fiddleville weekends over 13 years ago. Coming full circle, this child professional performer has as a young adult, played with the Scott Woods Band, and until two years ago, was touring with Settler's Creek, travelling all over Ontario. This year marks Rogerson's 2nd year into his solo journey and though he is very pleased with his success, he is even more grateful for his success. “Both sides of my family are very supportive and always have been along the way. Even though my grandmother played the accordion, I am the only one to take up the torch so to speak and pursue performance as a way of life, earning income,” Rogerson explained.
