Update II: Several last minute additions to Shelburne municipal ballotThe nomination process for the 2014 Municipal Election closed at 2 p.m. today (Friday, Sept. 12th). There will be two candidates vying for the position of mayor to replace long-term mayor Ed Crewson who recently withdrew his candidacy. Current deputy mayor, Kenneth Bennington and Shelburne resident Frank Hunt Jr. will be listed on the ballot. Geoff Dunlop, a current councillor, remained uncontested as of this afternoon. He will be the next deputy mayor of Shelburne. For the five possible council positions, there are nine candidates running. Incumbents Tom Egan, Walter Benotto, and Randy Chambers are looking serve another term of council (2014–2018). They are joined by Wade Mills, Dan Sample, Joshua Oatman, and as of today, Kevin Flear, A.J. Cavey and Gordon Montgomery, on the ballot.
