Thinking ahead to those chilly nights, we have lots and lots of new books, so do drop by and check some out. Sunday's Library Literary Event was wonderful and provided a great deal of insight into a relatively unknown individual who had a huge impact on the fur trade at the time. Author Barry Gough enthralled the audience with his research and stories about The Elusive Mr. Pond. As Nancy Frater, from Booklore, so aptly said in thanking Barry, “you have truly made history come alive!” There was quite a buzz in the room as members of the audience enjoyed the social time afterwards. The next Library Literary event will be held on November 9, 2014 and will feature, Hugh Brewster. More details to follow. This Thursday, September 25, both our Book Clubs will be meeting: Rose's Book Club at 2 p.m. and the Teen Book Club, Pizza and Pages at 6 p.m. The teens will enjoy pizza during their book discussion and perhaps we need some treats for the adults too! Next week starting Monday, September 29th, we will be supporting the Alzheimer Society with a Coffee Break Café. Enjoy a cup of coffee as you browse the shelves. This is the one week of the year that you are actually encouraged to have a cup of coffee in the library. A small donation to the Alzheimer Society is appreciated. New! Spanish Classes We have an exciting opportunity to offer Spanish classes for travelers. Come to the library on Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m. for an information meeting or call the library at 519 925-2168 for more information. We have an excellent instructor and are looking forward to offering these classes. There will be a cost involved.
