Kidde recalls residential smoke alarms

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management advises that on September 11, 2014 a joint notice by Kidde, Health Canada and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued an announcement that Kidde was recalling Residential Smoke Alarms and Combination Smoke/CO Alarms.
The affected units were sold between January and May 2014. New Tecumseth Fire Rescue is recommending residents check their smoke alarms and combination smoke/CO alarms to see if their detectors are on the recall list.
