The Shelburne Cricket Club championship series is tied at 3 after the Knights won over the Gladiators on Sunday, August 29, at KTH park.

The win keeps the series alive and forces game seven in a do-or-die match to determine the championship team.

The Knights won the game using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method
of play.

This method is a mathematical formulation designed to calculate the target score (runs needed to win) for the team batting second in a limited-overs cricket match interrupted by weather or other
circumstances.

Due to rain and lighting, the umpire decided to call the game.

At the time of the call, the Knights had scored 88 runs in 10.1 over with a fall of
five wickets.

On calculating the DLS, the revised winning score required was 71 runs, giving the Knights the win.

Batting first the Gladiators had scored 121 runs in 20 overs with Samir Patel being the top-scorer with 48, and Weylin Kapp 21, Marlon Robinson 11 with Lenroy Whorms 9, and Muhammad Jamal contributing 12.

For the Knights Tabish Taufiq was the leading wicket-taker with two wickets
in hand.

Rick Ramchand, Suresh Sudhakaran and Vikas Vig followed by a wicket each.

In their turn at batting the Knight's top scorer was Harpreetinder Sandhu with 18, Denton Barracks 15, Tabish Taufiq 11 and emerging player Hisaan Siddiqui contributed 12 runs.

For the Gladiators, Muhammad Jamal, Samir Patel, Marlon Robinson, and Ahsen Siddiqui took 1 wicket each.

The series final will take place on Sunday, September 5, at KTH Park.

Toss time is 2:45 p.m., with the game starting at 3:00 p.m.

There will be a lunch break.

The game will resume for two innings at 4:50 p.m., to 6:30 p.m.

Presentation of the championship will take place at 6:30 p.m.
