<content-encoded><![CDATA[Shelburne Legion Tyke 2 was eager to get back on the ice after the Christmas break and a weather related cancelled game. This time they faced a formidable opponent, the Shelburne Legion – Peoples Credit Union Tyke 3.

Tyke 3 showed its strong offence by scoring the first goal in the opening minutes. Recognizing this threat, the Tyke 2 defence rose to the challenge. Mason Burke worked hard to break up offensive plays and steal the puck numerous times. Aiden Alonso lead a couple of rushes, spinning his way around some of the offence and ending up with an assist. Adam Roper was the lone scorer for Tyke 2 this game with a hat trick. Even with this great effort, it was not enough to beat the Tyke 3 team. Tyke 2 had its first loss of the season with a score of 6–3.

Please note a name correction from the January 8 article. It should have read Adam Roper.

Coming up next for the Shelburne Legion Tyke 2: three games over three days. Stay tuned.
