On October 3, 2018 at10:18pm a Shelburne police officer observed a vehicle make an illegal left hand turn on to Main Street East.   The officer conducted a traffic stop and became suspicious that the driver had consumed alcohol.  The male driver participated in a roadside test for alcohol which he failed and was then taken to the Shelburne police station for further testing.  The male driver failed the subsequent tests and as a result, 35 year old Bryan Marcoux Bisson of Laval Quebec was charged with operate motor vehicle with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood.   Bisson was also charged with Drive motor vehicle- no licence and disobey sign under the Highway Traffic Act.  Bisson was also charged with Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available under Liquor Licence Act.

Bisson had his driver's licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for 7 days.

Bisson will appear at Ontario Court in Orangeville in late October to answer to the allegations.

On October 4, 2018 at 1:34pm the Shelburne Police Service received a concerned call from a local business regarding a possible impaired male that was observed driving.  A Shelburne police officer observed the male and the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Tansley Street.  After speaking with the male driver the officer suspected that the male had consumed alcohol.  The male cooperated with taking a roadside test for alcohol, which he failed.  The male was then transported to the Shelburne police station for further testing.  The male driver failed the subsequent tests and as a result, 38 year old Christopher Love of Shelburne was charged with operate motor vehicle with more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood and Drive while disqualified.  Love was also charged with Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available under the Liquor Licence Act.

Love had his driver's licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for 45 days.

Love will appear at Ontario Court in Orangeville in late October to answer to the allegations.

On October 5, 2018 a Shelburne police officer was conducting radar enforcement on Main Street East when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.  The officer conducted a traffic stop and after interacting with the male driver the officer suspected that the driver had consumed alcohol.  The male participated in a roadside test for alcohol which he failed and was then taken to the Shelburne police station for further testing.  The male driver failed the subsequent tests and as a result, 19 year old Dustin Diceman of East Garafraxa was charged with Operate motor vehicle with over 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood, impaired operation of a motor vehicle and fail to comply with probation.  Diceman was also charged with speeding and young driver- blood alcohol concentration above zero under the Highway Traffic Act.  As well, Diceman was charged with driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

Diceman had his driver's licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for 7 days.

Diceman will appear at Ontario Court in Orangeville in late October to answer to the allegations.

Mono collision

On Wednesday October 10, 2018 at 5:01 pm Dufferin OPP were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle collision on Mono Centre Road at 4th Line EHS in the Town of Mono. Dufferin EMS and Orangeville Fire Department responded as well.

Upon arrival a preliminary investigation revealed that a westbound motorcycle side-swiped an eastbound Honda CRV sport utility vehicle.   The 52 year old driver of the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital by Dufferin EMS and eventually transported to a Toronto Area Hospital with life threatening injuries.  Her current condition is listed as stable

OPP Technical Collision Investigators were on the scene for several hours to aid in the investigation.  No charges have been laid at this time and the roadway is now reopened.
