Hosted by the Shelburne Business Improvement Area (BIA) in partnership with the Town of Shelburne, the free event ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., inviting families to explore downtown Shelburne and celebrate the Halloween season. The celebration began at Jack Downing Park, where trick-or-treaters could pick up treat bags and ballots for the Great Pumpkin Hunt before making their way through participating businesses along Main Street and Owen Sound Street. Families were encouraged to arrive in costume, and they did, collecting treats while participating in Halloween-themed activities and discovering local shops and services. Turnout right at 10 a.m. was strong, and a long line quickly grew at Jack Downing Park, as families, all dressed up in various costumes from Star Wars to Marvel, to Lord of the Rings and internet-famous Vocaloids, came out together to celebrate Halloween. The clear weather and temperatures that were not too cold provided favourable conditions for the event, allowing families to comfortably explore downtown throughout the morning and early afternoon. Treats in the Street also highlighted the importance of community partnerships and local businesses in creating seasonal traditions. By bringing residents into the downtown core, the celebration offered an opportunity for businesses to connect with families while encouraging community members to experience Shelburne's shops and services. Organizers also encouraged attendees to support local families in need through donations to the Shelburne Food Bank. The event ran alongside Shelburne's Haunt in the Park, which hosted its Mini-Boo event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering families an opportunity to experience the Halloween attraction during daylight hours without the heavier scares. With hundreds of guests attending, Treats in the Street was the success the town was looking for and gave families another opportunity to connect and support local businesses and enjoy Halloween festivities together before the arrival of winter. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2026-10-29 11:22:55 Post date GMT: 2026-10-29 15:22:55 Post modified date: 2026-10-29 11:22:59 Post modified date GMT: 2026-10-29 15:22:59 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
