Three people charged with drug possession

The Shelburne Police have been busy taking illegal drugs off the street over the past week.

First, on Wednesday October 29th Shelburne Police officers were patrolling near Centre Dufferin District High School when they intercepted a student heading to the school with marijuana in his possession. The high school student was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act, and released on an appearance notice with a court date in November. Police seized a quantity of marijuana and related paraphernalia.

On Halloween night while Shelburne officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program. A vehicle that entered the program quickly caught the officer’s attention resulting in an investigation being launched. As a result of the road side investigation two occupants of the car were arrested and a quantity of illegal drugs were seized. The two adult males: Jonathon Collier of Clinton and Bruce Patterson of Etobicoke were each charged with possession of a controlled substance. They were released on appearance notices with court dates in early December.
