RE/MAX Real Estate Centre Inc. brokerage agents, Deb McAuslane and Barb Bazin can bask in the success of their pilot project ‘One Good Coat’. The coat drive was a success due to the support of the community and students from Centre Dufferin District High School (under the direction and hard work of their teacher, Pauline Lloyd).
Collecting 200 coats for the Shelburne community, distribution will take place over the month of November during the hours of 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday to Saturday from the Shelburne RE/MAX office.
Collected coats were scrutinized, cleaned and made ready for anyone in need of a winter coat. McAuslane and Bazin are committed and have promised to hand deliver coats to anyone who is unable to travel to their office.
“As this is our pilot project, we hope to collect even more coats next year. Using the experience we’ve gained this year, we’ll be even more organized,” said Bazin. “We plan to work closely with Community Care Access Centre as well.”
Bazin went on to say, “The students worked very hard and we understand one student collected 18 coats single handedly!”
“This project took many hours, but for those who need a winter coat and can’t afford one, it’s all worth it,” said McAuslane.
‘One Good Coat’ is a noble cause that once again makes Shelburne shine, keeping its own warm during the winter months.
On behalf of the Shelburne Free Press, congratulations to all those who participated in making this coat drive a huge success.
