The Scott Woods Band will be performing at Grace Tipling Hall on November 8th at 2 p.m. and promises a performance filled with, “Christmas Tradition”, and a nostalgic presence for the audience.
Woods himself is a Canadian Fiddle Champion many times over and the two hour performance will feature oldies but goodies like ‘Silent Night’, ‘Holy Night’, and ‘Away in a Manger’, with vocals by the talented Amanda MacInnis.
A new addition to the band, the warm and comforting bluegrass feel of the talented couple, Gary and Nadine Boles.
“We have a lot of new trick fiddling, we’ll feature the rich, sweet, warm, velvety voice of Nadine Boles performing ‘Nothing But A Child’ and ‘Mary Did You Know’. We also have a few new band members. Kendra Norris will be teaming up with Amanda MacInnis for a special surprise, and this year Bruce Timmins will be on guitar. Wes Dymond has gone back to school to get his MBA and his father Ron Dymond will join us on drums. With Kendra Norris on fiddle, accordion and vocals, Gary Boles on upright bass and vocals, Amanda MacInnis on fiddle, step dancing, and vocals, Nadine Boles on guitar and vocals we will bring a fresh and wonderful performance to Shelburne,” said Woods during a telephone interview with the Shelburne Free Press.
For those who have not seen Woods perform, you’ve missed out on one of the most astounding feats of coordination as Woods can play standing, rolling on a barrel, and not even skipping a beat – whipping the fiddle around playing behind his back and many other difficult trick fiddling feats.
“This is a full time career for me now. I started when I was only 8 years old, and I was youngest in the family. I took over the band in mid 1980s and people will remember my dad died in 2003,” Woods still nostalgic with regards to his wonderful family history continued, “We’ve been coast to coast since 2006! I just love performing! Christmas Tradition is a special performance, memorable and emotional, a real treat.”
