Public Health and nurses sign three year agreement

December 23, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health and the Ontario Nurses Association have both ratified a three-year collective agreement.
The agreement will see modest wage gains spread out over three years; with a 2% increase in January 2015, followed by 1.5% in 2016 and 1% in 2017.
The collective agreement included a few process changes such as allowing nurses to take on nursing leadership opportunities for up to 12 months outside of the agency without losing their seniority.
“This is a solid agreement for Public Health and for our unionized nurses,” said Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO for Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health. “The negotiations for this agreement were positive and focused on resolving issues. Management and nurses have demonstrated their desire to work together for the health of this organization and clients we serve.”
