Liberal Party Plan Delivers Fairness to the Middle Class says Crewson

On May 4th, the Liberal Party of Canada presented a plan to stand up for the middle class and those working hard to join it. The Liberal plan will benefit the people of Dufferin-Caledon by ensuring fairness and economic growth in Canada. “I’ve lived my entire life in this community, and what I hear when I speak with my friends and neighbours is clear: after almost a decade of Conservative government, people are having to work longer and harder just to make ends meet,” said Ed Crewson, Liberal candidate for Dufferin-Caledon. “The Liberal Party of Canada has a plan for fairness. We will give a tax cut to the middle class and give more money to middle class families to help them raise their kids.” The Liberal plan would replace four programs with one bigger, fair, tax-free monthly cheque for middle class and low-income families. A Liberal government will also make the tax system fairer by cutting the middle class tax bracket by seven percent. We believe in a country that works for everyone. Liberals will ask those who need help the least – those in Canada’s top one percent of incomes – to pay a little more so the middle class can pay less. “Canadians now have two fundamentally different choices. While the Conservatives offer tax breaks for the wealthiest Canadians, Liberals will deliver tax cuts for the middle class, in addition to one simple, monthly benefit for the families that need it most,” said Mr. Crewson. “Liberals will continue presenting solutions for much-needed economic growth in regions all across Canada, including right here in our riding of Dufferin-Caledon. The plan announced today will put more money back in the pockets of the middle class and those working hard to join it.”
