Farmers’ Market going strong

June 18, 2015   ·   0 Comments

The Shelburne Farmers’ Market had another great day June 11th with good weather and steady crowds out for fresh produce, baked goods and arts and crafts by local producers. “Crafty Nanny” Basia Knowlton and her daughter Shannon had a booth at the market and were raising funds for supplies to make afghan blankets to be donated to Family Transition Place in Orangeville. The market which opened at its new location at First and Owen Sound Streets in Shelburne May 21st will run every Thursday from 3–7 p.m. throughout the growing season. Traffic has improved significantly with the more accessible location, attracting a wide variety of vendors and making it a great way to spend an evening trying new local products and meeting friends and neighbours. If you want to visit with long time friends, this is the place to come. Market Chair Joey Lemieux hopes to increase signage for the event and encourages more fresh produce vendors and local farmers to join the market as vendors.
