Car avoids RIDE, drug charges laid

Shelburne Police officers were conducting an R.I.D.E. program just after midnight on Tuesday June 16th when a silver Nissan sedan attempted to avoid entering the check stop.
The car was soon stopped by the officers and a roadside investigation was initiated. As a result of the investigation, the occupants of the vehicle were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and a quantity of marijuana was seized.
The driver, 27 year old Shawn Reid of Concord was charged Possession of Marijuana, as well as three highway traffic offences. A passenger, 27 year old Aaron Adams of Brockville was also charged with possession of marijuana under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. Both accused were released on appearance notices with court dates in July.
