Putting Food & Water First

June 25, 2015   ·   0 Comments

Dufferin Artist, and Food & Water First supporter, Sandy Wong was one of many artists who presented their work at Barnfest on June 14th at Pegram Farm in Mulmur Township. The beautiful four acre property, known for custom picnicking, features a newly renovated century home, bank barn, flowering shrubs and vegetable gardens. The farm is owned by Katharin Cowan who hosted the event as a fundraiser for Food & Water First. Food & Water First Chair Shirley Boxem says, “We were truly honoured at the opportunity to be the focus of a fundraiser at such a wonderful location. The rain certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of those who were there. The selection of both art and food was inspiring and warming and the day was filled with great conversations and connections. The highlight was meeting new people and having great conversations about the event, people’s interests and of course about Food & Water First. Katharin has established Pegram Farm as the place to be in Dufferin County. Thanks to our super volunteers, who manned the tent during the day and added to our pledge list.”
