Headwaters warns of scam

November 5, 2015   ·   0 Comments

Headwaters Health Care Foundation has been informed that a group called Healing Hands (No 1 Publications Ltd.) is contacting local businesses and asking them to purchase copies of an alleged book entitled Healing Hands or Teen Life Choices, which they claim will be delivered to patients at Headwaters Health Care Centre.
Headwaters is not affiliated with Healing Hands, has not authorized their fundraising activities, and does not distribute these books to patients in the hospital.
Headwaters Foundation understands that representatives of the Healing Hands books tell local business owners that books will be given to sick and injured children. They allegedly contain games, puzzles and other material for children.
Headwaters Health Care Foundation is warning businesses not to become financially involved with this venture. Number 1 Publications is not a legitimate business and children in the hospital will not receive the books.
Should local businesses wish to make a donation to support the children who require care at Headwaters Health Care Centre, please visit www.hhcfoundation.com/donate-now or call 519 941-2702, ext. 2303 for more information.
Numerous health authorities and hospitals across Canada have issued statements and warnings to businesses that they are in no way affiliated with the Healing Hands books.
Information about Healing Hands (Business No. 828794339RC0001) can be found on Industry Canada’s website at www.ic.gc.ca/app/scr/cc/CorporationsCanada/fdrlCrpDtls.html?corpId=8417776
