The Shelburne Giant Tiger contacted police late in July with suspicions that an adult male and female were repeatedly attending the store and committing frauds.
An investigation was launched which did reveal thefts and fraudulent activity with these suspects.
The two suspects were soon after identified by police. They ended up being a brother and sister from Melanchthon.
As a result 33 year old Darryl Verner and 28 year old Tabitha Verner were arrested and charged in relation to the incidents. Both accused have been charged with two counts each of theft under $5000, two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime, 1 count each of fraud, and one count each of attempted fraud.
They were both provided court dates at the Orangeville Court House to answer to these charges.
