December 4, 2015   ·   0 Comments

Recently Shelburne Home Hardware held is annual Ladies’ Night to the delight of the 150 plus attendees.
The evening began with registration where each person is handed a passport. The goal is to visit each workshop being offered in order to fill the passport with stickers. Workshops consisted of short informative presentations on information such as flooring to DIY Christmas presents. Upon completion all passports were added to the draw where top prize of a $500 in store credit went to Shelia Embry, second prize was a $300 in store credit won by Sherri Robinson and third prize of a $200 in store credit went to Ainsley Hillier. Once again all who attended Ladies Night had both an informative and fun evening and received and additional 20 per cent off all their purchases that evening, all while enjoying the live music provided by the Pinky Swear Quartet.
At this event Bill Gillam, owner of Shelburne Home Hardware, announced his “Donate a Plate” campaign that will be running for the entire month of December. Gillam is putting a challenge out to the Shelburne community to donate to the local Breakfast Clubs in the Shelburne School District. For each dollar donated, Gillam will match up to $5000. For your donation you will receive a plate which you can sign and it will be proudly displayed in the store for all to see.
The Breakfast club program is run at each of the local schools as a way for children to get their day off to a good start. Whether there is no food at home or your cupboards are full this program welcomes all. It is a way for students to get together and spend quality time socializing with their peers.
Gillam advised “this is a way for me to bring the community together and give back to a worthy cause”. Stay tuned for updates on the final tally once the campaign comes to an end.
